Application If you would like a background color, here’s how I do this; I snap a chalk line along the bottom / beginning of the parking lot stall. I align this stencil, along that snapped chalk line. Then, I trace around the perimeter and then slide the stencil aside. I hand roll or spray that rectangle using the color of choice. Once that rectangle is dry, I re-lay this Electric Vehicle Gas Pump Stencil on that dry rectangle and again, spray using the color of choice. If you choose to use (2) colors, cover the E and V and spray all else. Then, uncover the letters and spray those using the different color of choice. All…without moving the stencil. ( Spray carefully ! ) If I am spraying (2) or more stalls, side by side, I snap (1) long chalk line along the bottom of all stalls, first. I use it as a guide. Therefore, all stencils will be lined up and straight. I hope that all helps. Our stencils are manufactured from Low Density Polyethylene Plastic ( LDPE ). LDPE is certainly reusable, easily cleaned and is the popular choice among pavement marking companies. I’ve been striping parking lots for (30) years and all of my own, personal stencils are the 125 Mil = 1/8″ thick material but, for occasional use, our 60 Mil = 1/16″ thick material will serve you well. Try not to buy anything thinner than 60 Mil. ( .060″ = 1/16″ ) Anything thinner tends to be flimsy and may be over priced. If you have any questions about stencils or striping, please, let me know.
