The Buggy Collar is designed specifically for minis horses, donkeys, and mules and small ponies. If you order the 10G you will get a leather collar designed specifically for mini horses, donkeys, mules and small ponies. If you order the 54 you sill get a synthetic collar designed specifically for mini horses, donkeys, mules and small ponies. It is downsized both in size and in diameter to better sit back against the smaller equine’s shoulders, allowing them to really push into the load they are pulling. It is almost a pound lighter in weight than the 9SMP All purpose collar for minis and ponies. The rim is smaller as well, allowing for a more flush fit against the mini and small pony’s neck. The closure at the top is the lever style Patent Fastener for ease of use. Color: Black, matte finished. Made from virtually indestructible synthetic materials, (if you chose the synthetic option) this collar is non absorbent. It can be cleaned with water or soap and water and will look new for many years. A secondary benefit is that since the collar is non-absorbent, instead of soaking up sweat as your animal works, the sweat will run down the horse’s neck to help cool him off. A high quality, heavy duty smooth leather is used for the leather option. The leather will allow the collar to soften and shape to the mini or pony’s neck shape over time. And, did we say the Pony Princess loves this collar? It is not only the right collar for the job, it’s beautiful as well! Sometimes people ask us what is the difference between the Buggy style collar and the All Purpose style? That is easy, the Buggy collar is a lighter and a little bit smaller option. The All Purpose style collar has a wider “Draft” (the part where the tugs sit when the traces are buckled in on the hames with short tugs) and is a little heavier. Below is a photo showing the two collars side-by-side: Here is a link to the hames shown paired with this collar: Hames with short tugs Please see this blog for information about what to do once you receive your collar: What to do after you receive your collar? Return Policy We accept returns of like new, in-stock merchandise within 30 days of purchase unless other arrangements have been made. Special order items are not returnable! Measuring For Your Collar Please watch the video below on how to measure your horse for your collar! You can find additional measuring information on our Size Chart Page. How to Measure for a Collar: Use a collar measuring tool or make your own tool using two carpenter’s squares (L shaped rulers) or L shaped cardboard cutouts. Overlap the long sides of the two rulers or cutouts forming what looks like a letter C or one vertical side of a collar. Place measuring tool on the animal as if it were one vertical side of the collar. Place it just where you want the collar to sit on the animal at the wither and below the airway. Grip the tool so it won’t slip as you remove it. Be sure the two parts do not slip; then measure from the top to the bottom on the inside. That will be your collar size.
