As a vegetable, it produces small beans ideal for curries. This tender annual is a shady climber with stunning purple flowers, followed by purple pods which can be used in curries. Pods are flat, blunt and slightly curved. Small young pods can be cooked and eaten whole or left to mature for use fresh or dried.
