Yugoslavia 2000 Home Short Sleeve Football Shirt [As worn by Mihajlović, Savićević & Stojković]

$22.5 $33.53
This is the fully-customizable short-sleeve home kit for the Yugoslavia (Serbia & Montenegro) Euro 2000 campaign. The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia featured at Euro 2000 as first timers having been banned from participating in the last two editions due to United Nations international sanctions, and they impressed under manager Vujadin Boškov. The Blues were drawn in Group C alongside Spain, Norway and another former Yugoslav republic, Slovenia, and they finished in second place to book a place in the knockout stages. However, their group campaign was not without plenty of drama as they had a player sent off in each of the three games. Yugoslavia went 3-0 down in their first game of the tournament against Slovenia after 57 minutes and had Siniša Mihajlović shown his marching orders on the hour mark. However, they still managed to secure an impressive comeback within six minutes through a Savo Milošević brace either side of Ljubinko Drulovi’s goal. Milošević’s third goal of the tournament helped Boskov’s side run out 1-0 winners against Norway in their second group game despite Mateja Kežman’s 88th-minute red card. The Yugoslavians went ahead thrice in their last group game against the Spaniards, with Milošević, Dejan Govedarica and Slobodan Komljenović grabbing the goals, but they ultimately lost 4-3, with Slaviša Jokanović’s sending off in the 63rd minute undoubtedly playing a huge role in the defeat. They finished ahead of Norway in the group due to the head-to-head rule, only to get dumped out in the quarter-finals by the Netherlands following a 6-1 drubbing, and Milošević’s 92nd-minute goal only served as consolation, helping the striker emerge as joint highest goalscorer at the tournament. Euro 2000 – hosted by Belgium and Netherlands – was the last tournament the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia played under the name, competing officially as Serbia and Montenegro during the Euro 2004 qualifiers having undergone a change of name in February 2003.
